March News

Celebrations

  1. Parent participants at the February 12 Parent Climate Conference recommended increased parent engagement and the special presentation called "Academic Advising 101" was the first step to this off to over 500 families!

  2. The participants at the Parent Climate Conference also recommended that all distractions be off and stored upon entering the classroom; we are currently working to enforce this across all classrooms as one way to increase learning!

  3. The "Raider Hall of Fame" is almost complete; we just need to scan a yearbook or senior photo collage for 1980, 1995, and 1997 so if you or someone you know is willing to loan the item to Mrs Schaefer for up to 30-minutes, please text 801.633.6755 to make an arrangement.

Safety Spot:

WHS has adopted the Standard Response Protocol and the Reunification Method. In the event that we need to reunify families with their scholar, we will use this card and the procedure outlined here.

Academic Focus

Work as a family to set a goal about end-of-year testing for your scholar. Consider one of the following:

* Use the headphones provided for text-to-speech,

* Use scratch paper to take notes and/or puzzle through the problem and select the best answer, or

* Slow down and do your best thinking.
