Celebrations:

A greater number of parents are becoming more engaged with their scholar on career choices, academic planning, and by checking Aspire daily. If you need help to get into Aspire, please reach out to Ella Redhouse (call 435.678.1865). Parents and scholars can easily send faculty a message through Aspire!
Scholar athletes are using Thrillshare to communicate with their coaches. Coaches put a lot of information into Thrillshare for parents. If you need help to set up your Thrillshare, please reach out to Kim Schaefer to set up an appointment OR find her at one of the many home games in January!
One hundred scholars qualified for the ABC Party, hosted by Student Council, at the end of 2nd quarter! Scholars continue to engage with opportunities beyond the classroom, especially by getting involved with extra-curricular programs like HOSA, MIBT, UNITY, DECA, SkillsUSA, FFA, 4-H, eSports, Raider Art Club, Civics Capacity Grant, AV Club, National Honor Society, Student Council, National Art Honor Society, Sterling Scholars, and Chess Club! Be sure to visit us during the next Connection Tables Event: January 8 and Home G/BBB vs Monument Valley!
Academic Focus:
Daily practice of a skill leads to higher scores on quizzes, tests, and assessments. This is why reading outside of school, using Membean to learn new vocabulary, completing math homework, practicing the musical instrument, and speaking Dine bizaad with your family is so important! Also, attending school every day and working hard in class to practice is vital.
Safety Spot:
Our Emergency Response Plan has been improved with feedback from multiple, area agencies during the July Safety Summit. Input from Elk Petroleum, Utah Navajo Health Systems, Navajo Nation Police, San Juan County Sheriff, San Juan School District, and the Utah Safety Center helped us clarify roles and procedures.
