November News

Celebrations

1. Keiarra Martin and Elam Etsitty won their Region XC race on October 23 AND both set new course records!

2. Most teachers who attended the technical support session with USBE and WestEd have already implemented some part of the recommendations, to include single-point rubrics with asset-based language!

3. Civics Capacity Cohort scholars and faculty really helped UNHS host a fun "Paint the Town Purple Event" along with Junior Class Advisors helping the concession run smoothly!

4. The Peacemaking Program is actively running each week and helping to eliminate barriers to earning a high school diploma!

Academic Focus

More scholars are learning how to use their notes for studying. Additionally, the practice sessions in IXL, Membean, Mathspace, SORA, and with their musical instrument is paying off on quizzes and tests. Additionally, teachers are supporting the act of revision . . . with presentations, flyers, narratives, and even in short paragraphs. These three actions, improve scholar learning:

  1. Actively studying notes,

  2. Regular practice, and

  3. Revision.
