We have been made aware of an issue with incoming calls from AT&T cell phones to our system. This is a problem that other businesses are also encountering. The problem is between Frontier and AT&T; they are aware of it and addressing it. We don't have an ETA on the repair.

Solar Eclipse
A Reminder to Bluff Eagle Families:
On Monday, April 8th, a total solar eclipse will occur over the southern United States. While Utah is
expected to experience a partial solar eclipse, out of respect and sensitivity to all cultures the following considerations are being made for our Bluff Eagle Students
OPTION 1: No change in schedule; attend regular school.
OPTION 2: Student attends school, eats lunch before 11:15 am, (lunch will be served at 10:45 am) and is then excused to a
quiet and still space inside the school until 1:45 pm.
OPTION 3: Students are excused (will be marked as excused in attendance system) from school and will be kept home.
Mrs Tohtsonie shared this information on the school newsletter but I wanted to share it again:
“While we may not be affected within our Four Sacred Mountains, however, out of respect all activity stops. It's our way to respect the Holy People during the eclipse, along with the atmosphere and the cosmic order. We need to respect the order/cycle of nature and our atmosphere, and educate the younger generations as to why we do so.
It is part of our culture to respect the cycle of life, the path of the sun, as it is the source of all life. This is no great mystery but quite logical. As we go through changes in our life, we set a time for ourselves, for self-reflection, a time of peace, uninterrupted tranquility, reverence, and to show our respect to the sun and the moon.”---Information shared by Diné Education
Thank you Parents

SCC mtg--- Due to unforeseen circumstances, SCC will be cancelled that was scheduled for tomorrow at 3:30 pm. I will reschedule the next meeting in April and put it on the calendar items next week. Thank you for your understanding. ~~ Principal Silversmith

Be looking for a colored form to go home this week so as parents you can sign up for an option for your child and getting your signature, then return to school by April 3rd.
Below is the SJSD official response regarding the eclipse event on April 8th:
• The SJSD will honor and respect a family’s choice in responding to the natural phenomenon of
the solar eclipse.
• All schools will be in session on April 8, 2024
• In order to accommodate families that wish to keep their child(ren) home, all students excused
by parents for April 8th will be marked excused and work missed will not count towards grades.
Therefore, there will be no make-up work required.
• In order to accommodate families who want to send their students to school but wish for their child(ren) to honor and respect their culture by remaining sVll and quiet during the duraVon of
the eclipse, a supervised quiet and sVll place will be designated at each school. Parents must opt
their child(ren) into this quiet and sVll place. This quiet time will approximately last from 11:15
AM to 1:45 PM. Lunch will be served prior to the quiet time.
• In order to accommodate families that wish for their child(ren) to attend a regular school day experience, students who are not excused or opted into the quiet and still place will attend an as normal as possible school day experience.
• Staff members who choose, will also be allowed to opt into the quiet and still designated place.
We value our partnership with parents and families in our communities. I sincerely hope that the three options provide families choice in how best to respect this natural phenomenon of the solar eclipse. I greatly appreciate your support and thoughtful consideration in meeting the needs of all students.

Bluff Eagle Parents...Tomorrow morning Bluff school will start school at the regular time of 8:15 am with breakfast being served from 7:45-8:15 am. Buses will run at the regular schedule, but yet take into consideration the road condition. We also have made a change of the location for the drop off of the buses. The drop off will now be in the front of the school bldg. so if you are dropping your children off, be aware of the buses unloading students in the front of the building. Any questions, please email bsilversmith@sjsd.org or call 435-678-1296 in the morning. Thank you!

Scan the QR code on the flyer to register.
