School Community Council (SCC)

The School Community Council (SCC) works to improve the learning environment (academic and behavior) for all scholars by providing input to financial decisions, school improvement plans, and making further suggestions to the school administration. Parents serving on the SCC directly influence how Trustland funds are spent and in SY26, we will receive over $72,000. The SCC meets the last Thursday of each month at 4:45 pm and meetings are open to the public. The in person meeting location is the WHS Conference Room. Important SCC documents are posted on the right. There are 7 parent members and 2 school members. For SY26, there were four open parent member seats. Each position serves a 2-year team.

SCC Nominations are gathered during Registration (first week of August) each year. Parents of scholars enrolled at the school will be notified of the Nomination and Election timeframe in the Welcome Letter sent in mid-July, along with follow-up website/social posts and another letter in early August.

From the nominations gathered, a ballot is created for the Official Election. The election is in mid-late August each year; it is held in conjuction with a Back-to-School Night, Connections Table Event, or a Faculty Meet & Greet Event. The paper ballot is completed in the Front Office and inserted into a monitored Ballot Box. The ballots will be tallied and elected people notified within 1-day of the completed election.

If seats are unfilled following an election, they will be appointed by the convened SCC according to the Rules of Order and Procedure.
